Minnesota Northwest Minnesota INFOCON schools receive $150,000 grant

August 28, 2008. United Northwest INFOCON received official notification from the Minnesota Department of Education for the Title II Part D Enhancing Education Through Technology grant award in the amount of $150,000.
The purpose of the grant is three fold.
1.    Enhance student learning and improve student’s academic achievement through the integration of technology with instructions at in both elementary and secondary schools.
2.    Assist every student in achieving information and technology literacy by the time the student finishes eight grade, regardless of the student’s race, ethnicity, gender, family income, geographic location or ability
3.    Encourage effective integration of technology resources with teacher training and curriculum development to establish research-based instructional methods that can be widely implemented as best practices by Minnesota school districts and charter schools
United Northwest INFOCON, a consortium of rural, public, and private schools, whose mission is to provide a forum for sharing information and developing human and financial resources to build and maximize the use of technology in member schools.   United Northwest Minnesota INFOCON schools include: Cathedral School, Crookston; Climax-Shelly Public School, Climax; Holy Rosary School, Detroit Lakes; Red Lake Falls Public Schools, Red Lake Falls; Sacred Heart School, East Grand Forks; Stephen-Argyle Central Schools, Stephen; St. Bernard’s School, Thief River Falls; St. Josephs School, Moorhead; St. Josephs School, Red Lake Falls; and St. Michaels School, Mahnomen.
